Here’s a thought.
I work almost exclusively with teams of hugely dedicated HR professionals and TA Partners. These guys work their socks off in dealing with all areas of people within business. The HR guys particularly are now being overwhelmed with emergency Covid-19 planning and policy making and writing, alongside the very real well being issues related to being in the HR function today.
Put that against the huge admin and red tape burden that IR35 is placing on these exact same people.
I know as someone in recruitment ‘IR35’ may feel bigger to me than to people outside of this arena, but surely, when we have this unprecedented pressure on our HR teams, parking the IR35 reforms for just a few months/April next year would ease that unnecessary work load?
Not to mention the added fact that businesses are now creaking with the demand on infrastructure required to support the new WFH measures…lots of which are supported by contracted IT support professionals!!!!
Perhaps the Government, could in one swift action, relieve a lot of pressure from HR, allow business to continue using the flexible, short term professional resources they will need to help administer and support us all through this challenge and we might all have just one less thing to worry about.
Just a thought…
