Paralegals – Debt Recovery Litigation, Manchester

New and exciting roles for a Paralegals based in Manchester city centre have become available at the head office of a very successful and specialist debt recovery litigation firm. The job holder will take on responsibility for the Debt Recovery Litigation process relating to either Secured or Unsecured Recoveries, depending on experience, ensuring that objectives and deadlines are met at all times.

Responsibilities:

To provide technical and practical support in dealing with debt recovery and litigation actions.This will involve collection of overdue debt, providing a professional and informative primary point of contact for all customers, clients & third parties whilst maintaining the highest level of customer service.

Dealing with all aspects of a litigation focused debt recovery process including:

Ensuring assigned caseload is managed effectively and in line with client service levels, court processes and internal expectations.

To process inbound calls and assist customers with overdue accounts to negotiate prompt payment and rehabilitate accounts within defined timescales.

To record all customer contact accurately on the collections system and update client systems where appropriate.

Answer client queries and provide status updates/advice in a professional and efficient manner whether this is via email communication or verbally via the telephone.

Compile witness statements or completion of court documentation as required as part of the recovery process.

Provide assistance to other colleagues within the department as and when required.

Ensure all work undertaken is in line with internal and client service level agreements.

Liaise with external third party companies, agents or other representing parties as required.

Treat all customers fairly, professionally and act within legislation, compliance and codes of practice.

Accept and request guidance tuition and training on the methodology of work, utilisation of computer systems and other assistance at work.

Carry out all of the above with the view to the provision of high quality legal services and the achieving of high profitability within the firm.

In addition to the above, the Paralegal may be required to carry out any other reasonable request as required by the Operations Manager.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will need to be target driven and able to cope well under pressure and be used to working to deadlines. Previous legal experience in a similar role, dealing with Commercial or Private Debt Recovery or Mortgage areas is required. Good literacy and IT skills including Excel will be required.
