Legal Secretary – Southampton

Are you an experienced Legal Secretary with a strong background in UK law firms ?

Our client is a leading full service private practice law firm based in Hampshire with a strong reputation for high standards of client care and providing excellent legal advice.

They now require a talented full-time Legal Secretary to assist an Associate and NQ Solicitor in their thriving Commercial Property department in Southampton on a permanent full time basis. Previous experience in Property departments is not essential.

Key competencies will include excellent IT skills, attention to detail, initiative, strong communication and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities will include providing high level secretarial and administrative support to the fee earners.

Duties will include:

Fast and accurate audio and copy typing using digital dictation

Relaying accurate telephone messages from client to fee earner, taking action in fee earners absence if appropriate

Diary management (including arranging meetings and making travel arrangements when necessary)

Use of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Excel and Word

Dealing with file opening/closing and archiving

Carrying out on-line searches including SDLT

Dealing with expense claims

General office duties such as filing and photocopying
